  My biggest issue with Blackwood Fitness is the fact that, like other reviews have noted, they will never stop sending spam messages. After a year of receiving the messages, I tried to unsubscribe using the standard keywords that are defined and required by the Australian Spam Act of 2003. After that did not work, I contacted Blackwood Fitness directly over Facebook and they told me that they would remove me from the list the next day.

  The only thing I could suggest is how many mums you would help out if you had a creche facility. But can totally understand the logisitcs of setting this up

  A great, affordable gym, with so many classes. At $155 for 18 months deal, I will definitely sign up again once my membership is due to expire!

  The gym smells really bad, and the qualifications of the instructors seem questionable. my friend and i were determined to like this gym because it was the only one we could afford. we went to all of the classes at least once and didn't like any of them. The pump classes have too many students and not enough instructors to be safe or instructive. The yoga classes are just bad. Its not hatha yoga or gym "yoga". There is no flow, its just a disjointed series of yoga inspired exercises in semi-darkness with senior citizens. The pilates classes were realy slow and boring and in ALL of the classes, the smell of stale sweat is inescapable.

  I have been a member for about 3 years. I love this gym, the facilities are great and the classes are fantastic. I have tried about 70% of all the classes. The instructors are fantastic. I love Yoga and have tried about 4 different instructors yoga classes. They all have different styles and they are all good in their own way. Very professional and they all offer easy and hard options/levels. Some are very traditional and some are a bit more class/gym orientated, but they are all very good! I love Jackie and Lynley especially, they are so good with technique and very passionate and good at what they do. The Tuesday night Bodyart class is fantastic and I believe it is the only one in Adelaide so far.

  Blackwood fitness is the cheapest gym in South Australia - and you get what you pay for; but that's not their worst issue.

  After I continued receiving messages, I contacted the Australian Communications and Media Authority. Blackwood Fitness was then issued a notification and required to remove me from their contact list within 5 business days. However, two weeks later I continued to get SMS messages.

  I have had a lot of experience with going to gyms and have worked in a gym myself in the past and this gym is an all round gem. The price is unbeatable, they have a Cafe/food available, water available and always seem to be doing something new/changing things, adding/improving things etc.
